Allengers Care Foundation Supports Guldasta Mission-2026 for Prisoner Reformation & Rehabilitation
Allengers Care Foundation is proud to support the “Guldasta Mission-2026”, a joint initiative of the Punjab Prisons Department and Welba Foundation, Chandigarh, focused on the reformation and rehabilitation of prisoners through literacy and literary skills.
Allengers Care Foundation is extending financial support to the initiative, helping establish reading and writing spaces that encourage learning, creative expression and rehabilitation.
Writing can transform lives.
Encouraging prisoners to read and express themselves through poetry, songs and stories provides an avenue to release suppressed emotions, improve mental well-being and rediscover their sense of self-worth.
Through the Mission, Allengers Care Foundation is supporting:
Five books containing poems, stories and songs written by prisoners are currently under publication.
Two Dynamic Book Clubs have already been established at Borstal Jail, Ludhiana—which houses young prisoners aged 18–22 years—and Women Jail, Ludhiana.
The first DBC was established at Borstal Jail, Ludhiana on 29 September 2026, with the support of Allengers Care Foundation. Each DBC has 50 members with access to 50 latest books, creating the potential for 2,500 reading experiences through each club.
By bringing books, creativity and expression behind prison walls, we aim to help create a new identity built on dignity, confidence, learning and hope—helping individuals prepare for a positive and productive life after prison.
Because rehabilitation begins when we give people the opportunity to learn, express and change.
